Hometown: Redwood City, Ca Favorite activity: Swimming, reading and spending time in nature I have worked in the Tahoe Truckee region for over 20 years. My background is in collaboration, community organizing, project development, grant writing and meeting facilitation. I have worked in various roles with Tahoe Truckee social service and educational organizations including: the Truckee Parent Co-Op, Tahoe Safe Alliance, the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee, and the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. I played a key role in the creation of KidZone, North Tahoe and Truckee Family Resource Centers, Sierra Expeditionary Learning School, and the TTUSD Wellness Program. Currently I work as the TTUSD Wellness Coordinator and oversee the school district's Wellness Program I am passionate about creating opportunities for youth voice and building connections between community resources and schools. I have a B.S. in Human Development from U.C. Davis and various professional certifications. I live with my husband and two children in Truckee. We love being a part of the community and enjoy skiing, hiking, and family camping adventures. |

Hometown: Kings Beach, Ca Favorite activity: Mountain biking and snowmobiling After graduating from North Tahoe High School, I went on to receive my BA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with little intention to a career in education. After working in the animal welfare field, I discovered that I wanted to pursue a different path. I found my way to Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe and eventually to the TTUSD Wellness Program. I started with the Wellness Center in 2014 and have been fortunate to watch the program grow. Professionally I have received my Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University. I am currently obtaining hours to become a Licensed Clinical Supervisor and work under TTUSD supervision. I live in the Tahoe area with my husband and son. I am a crafting enthusiast, mountain biker and enjoy snowmobiling. |
Jamie HendrixWellness Center Specialist
Hometown: Oak Run, CA Favorite Activity: Skiing, going on walks, crafting Growing up in Northern California, I developed a great passion for nature and the outdoors. I attended University of California, Santa Cruz where I received my bachelors degree in Psychology. After jumping around a bit after college I ended up in Tahoe, working as a ski coach for the big mountain ski team. Through coaching, I discovered my excitement for supporting and inspiring kids, which led me to my position working for TTUSD. Currently, I am the Wellness Center Specialist at North Tahoe High School. In this position, I support tier 1 and 2 student needs through the facilitation of groups, one on one support, and connecting students to resources in our community. Over the past 6 years, I have come to make Tahoe my home and immersed myself in our wonderful community. |
